This one was a really cool collaboration. We teamed up with Affordafloor on an enclosed porch at Beaver Lake, and the end result is exactly the kind of work we love putting our name on. New hardwood floors, fresh finishes on the walls and ceiling, and the right products to make sure everything holds up for years - not just months.

The floor was the centerpiece. Affordafloor handled the install, and we came in to make sure every surface got properly protected. On a porch like this - exposed to humidity shifts, temperature swings, and everything a lakeside environment throws at it - product selection matters a lot. We used a combination of Spar Varnish, Rubio, and Benjamin Moore Pro products, each chosen for a specific surface and a specific reason. There's no one-size-fits-all approach when you're working in a space that sits between indoors and out.

The knotty pine walls and ceiling got treated to bring out the natural warmth of the wood without making it look overdone. That live-edge bar top running along the pass-through window got its own treatment too - it needed something that would protect it from spills and moisture while keeping that raw, natural character intact. Getting that balance right takes experience with the products and an understanding of how wood actually behaves over time.

What makes this porch special isn't just the materials - it's how everything works together. The rustic log posts, the rope and pulley details, the mason jar pendant lights, the custom screen door with the beaver and cattail cutouts. All of it has a story. Our job was to protect that story and make sure none of it starts looking worn before its time. A well-finished wood surface in a space like this isn't just about looks - it's about longevity.

Beaver Lake properties deal with real moisture challenges year-round. That's exactly why the finish selection on a project like this isn't something to cut corners on. When the products are right and the application is done properly, you're not thinking about redoing it anytime soon. That's the whole point.
